Dr. (Prof.) Subroto Mandal, a leading senior Interventional cardiologist in Andhra Pradesh. He was Assistant Professor, in the Dept. of Cardiology, NRI Medical College & General Hospital. At Present he is Professor & HOD, Department of Cardiology, Mamata Medical Collge & Superspeciality Hospital, Khammam, AP since August 2010 to till date. Elected as “Governing Council Member” of Indian College of Cardiology in 2011.
He started his medical education in 1989 from GMC, Bhopal, MP. After his post graduation, trained in clinical and Cardiology, Coronary and Non-coronary Interventions from Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad, AP, St. Petersburg and from Italy.
Primary interests are in clinical cardiology and primary angioplasty for heart attack. He is specialist in Trans-Radial Interventions/angioplasty. Performed more than 12,000 diagnostic and more than 4000 interventional procedures, including Coronary & Non-coronary Angioplasty, Percutaneous Balloon Valvuloplasty, Percutaneous closure of heart defect by Devices & Pacemaker Implantation, etc Also interested in ICD and CRT implantation.
He is interested in new technique/therapy in Interventional Cardiology. Recently performed PBMV by new balloon-technique (JOMIVA) first in Andhra Pradesh. Also performing treatment for claudication due to closed limb arteries by percutaneous technique with SilverHawk Plaque excision device.
Also involved in Medical Education along with Patient Care since 2006, Presently working in this 1000-bed teaching hospital recognized by “Medical Council of India” for the training of medical graduate and post graduate students with an annual intake of 150 graduate and 100 post graduate students, Cardiology department has 50 beds with facility of Non-invasive and Invasive procedures and Cardiac Catheterization laboratory.
